Hazaa!

Well, summer's nearly done ><

So what's new in the world? Let's sum it up:

Jesse proved to be a dud, and left me for my bestest bud. Oh well xD

I've been featured on G9's Audio Podcast #16. Check out his site at www.g9core.com. Thanks for the airtime!

I'm going to SAIT starting on the 28th and finally I got my booklists. On to the shopping heh.

So life goes on continually. But I feel it's time for...

RANT OF THE MONTH

Ok so this month's rant is of course on RETAIL STUPIDITY. I now work at the Source by Circuit City and every day 75% of my sales are to people that came to correct the error caused by salesmen over at Future Shop. I don't lie when I say they're lucky if they have a good sale price to convince customers to shop there. I mean, seriously, they're useless.

You know the world is sad when Future Shop refers customers to my store to buy a cable which might actually be cheaper at their store in the first place. They are based around the big sales, and will send away people if the purchase is really small. If you don't believe me, take a trip down to Future Shop, go to the biggest TV they have and say "I wonder if I should buy this?". Be prepared to get sandwiched in-between 16 salesmen trying to convince you to buy this TV. Next go to the cable section, not the monster cables, and say the same statement. You'll be lonelier than Saddam.

It takes pure stupidity for somebody to refer a customer to another store for a cable that could easily make some commission for them. I suppose I shouldn't complain as these men are helping me sell cables, digital cameras, power inverters, and the other little items that have the best commission ratios compared to TVs, computers, and other "big ticket" items. Thank you Future Shop for making my job so much easier.

Well I suppose I shouldn't rant too much, as life is overall awsome. I have learnt to appreciate life a lot more without relationships. I don't like the whole casual dating because I really am bad for falling too hard and missing heh. But simply life is really supposed to be taking care of yourself. I shouldn't get involved in relationships unless my life is stable. Relationships only destabilize me, therefore I shouldn't get involved until I'm ready.

Nevertheless, gotta get ready for the school season! Cheers!

-XBrav

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://djxbrav.blogspot.com/2006/08/august-back-to-school-hazaa.html' title='August - Back To School! Wow.

I know, I shouldn't really rant on about girls because I tend to say the most predictable, universal statement that everybody will say at least once in their life.

Well, I will say this.

I met her online, she's not a pedophile.

I entitled this post 'Take that MySpace' because if you have opened a newspaper lately, I'm sure you've seen one article demeaning teen websites.
Now, I understand that MySpace is not that different from Nexopia (Where I met Jesse):
->You create a profile
->You customize it
->You put your best pictures up
->You meet people
However, this site, like many others, is 90% used for singles to meet up. Now, I shouldn't say much because I'm guilty of catching the 'single fever'.

The single fever is a mental judgement of oneself creating the illusion that you can never do too much to try and meet a partner. It is extremely contagious and very difficult to cure. The solution:

SOCIALIZATION

I'm sorry but if you've been to any of these websites, MySpace.com and Nexopia.com are filled with tons of single people. This may not be in the websites' interests, however, the site is generally used to meet people.

I don't have a problem with this at all because I met Jesse online and we're inseparable. The difference is that me and her are basically of legal age. We have the right to go visit each other. We have the right to meet each other.

I have a problem with this:
http://news.google.ca/news?hl=en&ned=ca&ie=UTF-8&q=MySpace+Lawsuit&btnG=Search+News

People love to sue em.

This one line sums it up:
'The family of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a man she met on MySpace is suing for $30 million dollars in damages, charging that the social networking giant should have done more to protect minors from online predators.'

Now, here arises a question: WHO THE FUCK IS RESPONSIBLE?

And the obvious answer:

The consumer.

Were you forced to use MySpace?
No.
Were you forced to meet this guy?
No.
Were you forced to put pictures and a LOT of personal information on your page?
No!
Does it say anywhere in the company's policies that they verify that every tidbit of information is correct?
Who does? It's IMPOSSIBLE!

Nowhere in any company's policy does it state 'We verify that all information provided by third-party groups is entirely truthful. We hold full responsibility for any misconception or error.'

So lay off these sites and put your wallet away.

Holy bananas!

Well, life's getting on track, FINALLY! xD

Jesse is set to come to Calgary on the 13th, which is really exciting me. Our lives, our dreams, all reliant on the performance outputted onto little strips of paper. Our lives are determined based upon our ability to mark the correct response. We are tested.
Yet we do not have to truly face the worst pain to come: separation anxiety. As exams end, sometimes friendships can too. With the ability of choice comes the factors of importance. It can sometimes not be what we want in life, but rather what we are willing to sacrifice to get there. I am right in the middle of it myself.
One would normally expect a male like myself to be plotting his liquor demise, or social embarrassment. This is known as the infamous AFTER GRAD. However, it seems to be the least of my concerns. What is my concern? It's an absolutely normal reaction that I've entitled "The Migration Anxiety". It's basically getting really upset realizing that now everybody goes their own ways.
Many people I know and have shared practically my entire time here in Calgary with are travelling far away for prospects of their dream careers. Not originating here in Calgary, I have tied very close bonds with these people.
I recall the first time I moved from Victoria to Calgary. I was only 10 or so at the time, but when my parents said we were moving I was all excited, thinking it was a vacation or something. However, in the last 3 days or so of living there, I actually realized I was going away and most likely never coming back.
For those of you that have had to move from a place you've been for a long time, you realize how devistating it can be. Now take that feeling, and evolve it with some nuclear waste or something. It gets a whole lot uglier.
Now, instead of being forced one way or another, you have a choice. Stay where you are, or go with your friend. Either way, you lose something. If you stay, you lose the friend. If you leave, you lose the family, or perhaps other friends. Yes, it can be absolutely devistating.
Now, let's say you're REALLY close to this friend. No, I don't mean having sex, although that would easily complicate things more. Basically, I really like her. We've been close friends for nearly 3 years and I swear life would be so weird without her. She's moving to Burnaby for college, I'm staying here in Calgary.
There's always that funny little bell in my head that rings "Hey, college babes!". Comedic, yet unrealistic. I tend to find it difficult picturing these scenarios that obviously wouldn't play out in my favor. Thanks dad for the lovely idea but, I don't think so.
I do believe I'm no longer the same person I once was. I used to simply date anybody that liked me, never worked out in my favor. However, I have people that like me right now and I'm not going for it? Why not? To be honest, I really care that much about Bre. Once you've gotten to know somebody and you really like them, the bond is beyond relationship. And after a track record like mine, how can you ever tell somebody this is how you seriously feel? I would really like to tell her I love her in a true, romantic sense, but I'll give you a mini rant on why I don't.
We live in a society where the word LOVE has become an overrated term. Love does not include cheating, divorces, and all those other relationship crushers. Teenagers tend to believe they're in love, but if it all breaks off they take their word back. (For the record, I once did love, but I was badly hurt due to the break-up and I do still love her just not in the same way and nearly as strongly). Love is overrated.

Welcome to the world that is Pre-Grad Panic.

School's nearly out!

God forbid one day DJ_XBrav would be released into the world. The day of reckoning is upon us.

Yeah these stupid diplomas are coming up and they will determine whether or not I get into college. So no music 'til probably July. Somehow, it got 500 downloads after 6 hours, which is very unusual in that period of time. However, I'm still quite impressed with it.
Here's the link: http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my?loc=59yii-warioland%203%20overworld%20day.mp3

Review here:
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=323582&sub=44491

or here in the blog please!

Today my world is opened to yours

Well, I decided to give in, and get a blog just for myself.
My good remixing friend, EazyP (http://eazypmusic.blogspot.com) has a blog here too, and I'd highly suggest you check his stuff out. He has inspired me for a long time.

Nevertheless, here is where I can post all the new info on releases!

But who am I?

DJ_XBrav has been my remixing alias for I believe around a year and a half. I first began as XBrav, posting on Newgrounds.com back in October of 2003. However, as I found remixing and composing to be more and more interesting, I added the prefix "DJ" to the name, mostly for the fact that it ran smoothly.

I currently have 165 remixes posted on Newgrounds' Audio Portal, and I'm still going! So enjoy my blog!
